Lady on a Wire Shannon Lynette 9781479382378 Books
Shannon Lynette has done an excellent job of compiling a diverse assortment of poetry that is well worth the purchase price and well worth the read.My copy is marked up with red dots and blue arrows, because Shannon is not afraid to lay it out like it is.
I truly enjoyed this book, because it was easy to identify with: it helps the reader to feel just that little bit less alone.
As I made my way through the book, I made a point of writing down each poem that specifically spoke to me, originally intending to include a short listing in my review. By the time I had finished Lady on a Wire, the list was too long to consider including!
I recommend this book without reservation. Go buy a copy! You won't be let down.

Lady on a Wire Shannon Lynette 9781479382378 Books Reviews
Reading through Lady on a Wire was very interesting creating emotions and the encouragement to read on. Ms Lynette seems to influence her poetry with feelings many can relate too and connects on many different levels from sad and depressing to loving. Even though I am not a regular reader of poetry, I would have to say Ms Lynette did a spectacular job with Lady on a Wire. It's a must read if you love poetry!
"But when I lit it on fire it became alive and stole my bones" Words like these are what puts Lady on a Wire, at the top of my collection. Shannon Lynette has a way with words, and she dominates them in this book from cover to cover. She has truly established herself as Amazing. Don't just take my word for it, read this book, find out for yourself!
Shannon Lynette has managed to top her first book A Place With No Name, with her latest publication Lady On A Wire. This book has something for every emotional state and mood a person can find themselves in. If you are in love, heart broken, satisfied, dissatisfied, elated, or depressed, there is a poem in this book for you. Ms. Lynette does not hold back in her latest works, and you will not be able to hold back your own emotions upon reading it.
Lady on a Wire, the sophomore effort from poetess Shannon Lynette, is a wonderful blend of emotions and stamina that is fresh and long awaited. She has expanded and honed her skills, giving an intimate peek behind the curtain. Coming in at 135 pages, the book contains a wide variety of topics and there is something for everyone between the covers. No real cryptic lines here, just a very gifted writer pouring out her talent on paper. A great collection for all poetry lovers.
So I downloaded this collection of poetry at the urging of a friend. I was skeptical because although I fancy myself a writer of sorts, I don't like other people's poetry. It all just seems hackneyed to me. But I gotta tell you, "Lady On A Wire" blew me away. Ms. Lynette weaves emotions we can all identify with into a gritty, raw, and sometimes arousing fashion.
I read the first couple of poems "Burnt Amber" and "Creation" before skipping around. While reading "Burnt Amber" I thought to myself, this girl's talented and all, but it's still someone else's poetry. Then I read "Creation". Even just the opening line "You are nothing but a concoction of wet dreams and spit" and I was hooked. I skipped around to different poems on my breaks at work, read a few in a row after work, and absolutely fell in love with this canon. And Ms. Lynette.
Also, to note, the artwork accompanying this opus is quite amazing too. Simple and raw like the words they are intertwined with.
All in all, an amazing accomplishment.
